D’Addario’s Evans Drumheads has launched the UV1, a brand-new series of drumheads that is the very first to market with the company’s newly patented UV-cured coating.

The UV1’s coating is designed to provide durability and consistency of texture. The head also features a new 10mil film known for its warmer tonal characteristics while being more resistant to stretching and denting. Combined with Evans Level 360 Technology™, and debuting a new logo, the UV1 aims to be a versatile and durable 10mil drumhead for the widest range of sonic possibilities and musical applications.

“The UV1 Snare Head gives you a focused, full sound in the center of the head with a musical balance of usable harmonic overtones (aka ring) at the edge that you don’t have to “tune out” or mute down with tape or gels. It’s the perfect sound right out of the box! Excellent tuning range and feel, great for both studio and live, and they look fantastic too!” – Omar Hakim.

According to D’Addario the UV1 is the solution for drummers who are tired of flaked, chipped, and worn out coatings. The added benefit of increased surface texture makes it extremely responsive to brush playing while the UV-cured coating provides unmatched durability.

The UV1 series ranges from sizes 10-16″ – 14” heads will be available in stores August and September. The rest of the sizes will ship in October. Check them out wherever D’Addario Evans drumheads are sold.
