Promark’s popular 747 size drumstick is 5A diameter but a bit longer with a shorter taper and oval taper, and it’s now available with the durable firegrain treatment. Also new at NAMM was the Spyr mallet line. The company’s new thread winding machine, adapted from D’Addario’s guitar string winding process, allows for more innovation possibilities in the company’s mallet line. The Spyr line includes 24 new mallets total for marimba, vibraphone, xylophone and glockenspiel. They have a color coded hardness scale with the color stitched into the mallet head for easy identification.
