Check out this video with Sam Muro of Muro Drums describing his stave-shell construction process. He cuts an extra-wide, shallow snare bed, allowing the snare wires to sit along the head very flat and evenly. He makes four lines of snare drums, all hand-made by Muro in his Southern California shop.

At the 2018 Hollywood Drum Show he also had on hand his own personal snare, a top-of-the-line Millennium series with crushed turquoise rocks as a horizontal inlay along the center of the drum.

Muro donates a portion of the sales of each drum to the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of his family members who have been affected by cancer.
