Though they’ve been around for several years our first experience up close with the Kingdom Kajon came at this year’s Southern California Drum Show. The cajons are striking in shape with softly sloping sides, a wide lower bout, and comfortable seating options up top.

Kingdom has put a lot of effort into coming up with innovative sound options. First, their largest models can move a lot of air and offer a hefty bass sound. They also have an EZ rocker snare setup: By leaning the instrument backward or forward you can add or remove the snare sound as you play. They also offer knobs to control sounds such as jingles, shakers, and cowbell, and a variety of striking custom finishes including paintings by local artists.

We spoke with Daniel Simonek and took a listen to the Kingdom Kajon in action. See the video above for more.
