Funk jam titans Lettuce are back with a new album of original tunes to make sure you get your required dose of vitamins F, U, N, and K. Check out drummer Adam Deitch in the video above talking about the making of Elevate, due out June 14, in this exclusive Drum! premiere.

The album’s first single, “Krewe,” is out now. In the video, Deitch talks about working with legendary engineer Russ Elevado (D’Angelo, The Roots) and how important it is locking with bassist Erick “Jesus” Coombs. If you saw our Facebook Live Q&A with Deitch a few months ago, you know he has a painting of Jesus above his drum kit in his Colorado home to make sure he’s always got a rhythm section to jam with.

The video is Deitch’s portion of the six-part series called “The Krewe—A Lettuce Documentary Series.” The band is also embarking on a national tour with dates scheduled through November. Check out Lettucefunk.com for more info.
