You may recognize parts of these exercises, and that’s because I am revisiting some concepts that I’ve covered in the past because they are really fun to apply to a double bass drum setup.
Exs. 1–8 are about forming some tasty fills by breaking up continuous sixteenth-notes between both hands and feet. When playing these fills, use single strokes for both hands and feet. Begin with your natural lead hand, then alternate with your non-dominant hand as you get more comfortable. Get creative and move these around the kit for some really cool sounds.
