Drum caught up with Ludwig’s Uli Salazar at the Chicago Drum Show May 19-20, 2018 to check out the new Neusonic drum set. In a room with mostly vintage kits, this one stood out for its cleanliness and price (under $1,000).
Ludwig’s newest addition to their lineup is made in its Monroe, North Carolina factory. The three-piece (20×14, 12×8, 14×14) shell pack is six-ply, with three plies of cherry inside and three plies of maple outside and a single 45-degree bearing edge. It’s a versatile kit with cool hardware and a classic looking sugar maple finish. Lightweight and functional, Salazar says this kit was made with the working drummer in mind.
