Here is the finale of my three-part series on double bass fills. For Exs. 1–6, begin with your dominant hand. When you’re comfortable with that, switch and start out with your weak hand. Another thing I like to do is place accents on any beat that sounds or feels right to do so. Be imaginative. Also, always use a metronome. Start slow until you have these down, then go for it.
