Hit Like A Girl Champions To Perform At PASIC 2018

Four of the world’s top female drummers will take the stage during the Hit Like A Girl showcase at the Percussive Arts Society’s International Convention (PASIC) on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at 9 AM in Ballroom 500 of the Indianapolis Convention Center. Scheduled to perform are 2018 contest Champion Calsey Tory and 2018 Runner-Up Roni Kaspi along with 2012 Champion De’Arcus Curry. Popular Los Angeles rock drummer and 2019 Hit Like A Girl spokesperson Mel McFail will MC the event. Curry currently tours with Hip-Hop artist T-Pain and R&B legend Keith Sweat. Mel recently completed a tour with legendary punk band L7.

Famularo, Sanchez to Headline Cascio Music Drummerfest

Cascio Music’s 18th annual Drummerfest takes place Oct. 13 at the company’s flagship store in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This free event offers live performances and clinical instruction, from some of the world’s best drummers. This year’s lineup includes: Dom Famularo; Antonio Sanchez; and Greg Landfair Jr. (Chance The Rapper).

Drummerfest offers photo and autograph opportunities with the headliners. The Milwaukee Bucks Beats Drumline will also be making an appearance. Representatives from major drum companies will also be present with their latest drum gear, giving opportunities to demo new products.

D’Addario Partners With Blue Knights

D’Addario & Co. has announced a new partnership with Ascend Performing Arts, a not-for-profit educational organization based in Denver, Colorado, which operates the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble, and Blue Knights Winds (debuting 2019). The ensembles of Ascend will perform exclusively with Promark sticks and mallets, Evans drumheads, and D’Addario accessories.

“The ensembles of Ascend have always been known for being trendsetters in the activity with the ultimate goal of educating the next generation of musicians,” Kyle Thomas, D’Addario artist marketing manager said in a statement. “This ethos mirrors our own at D’Addario.
