A new Switch Kick beater by AHEAD (price TBA) caters to drummers who love the classic sound of a square felt beater. It uses a standard square-felt, reversible quick-release bass drum beater head, and is designed to create a heavier felt sound with maximum surface head contact.
The new beater has an overall length of 4.75 inches (head dimensions are 1.75″ in diameter, 1.50″ in length), weighs 66 grams, features a black aircraft grade aluminum shaft, rotates 360 degrees (turn it by 90 degrees to lock, unlock, or remove), and offers nine different heights for switching speed, volume, and feel within seconds. It is available with and without stainless steel adapter shaft (SK-SHAFT).
AHEAD is also debuting a Switch Kick beater (price TBA) for the musician who wants to use a pedal with a cowbell or tambourine. This one has an overall length of 6″ (head dimensions are 1.25″ in diameter, 3″ in length), and weighs 78 grams. The high density black Delrin two-way beater head includes a hard rubber side for a cowbell and a soft silicone rubber side for a tambourine The hard rubber side enables the user to attain a louder sound with less effort, and a softer touch when using the soft silicone rubber side.
It also rotates 360 degrees (turn 90 degrees to lock, unlock, or remove), features a black aircraft grade aluminum shaft, offers different heights for switching speed, volume, and feel within seconds, and is available with and without a stainless-steel adapter shaft (SK-SHAFT).
Both products carry a one-year warranty, and are made in the US.
